Spring Festivals in San Francisco

Spring in San Francisco is a magical time of the year. Some of San Francisco’s largest festivals rock the city in the spring. The weather is unpredictable, transitioning back and forth between rain and sun, fog and fair skies, without rhyme or reason.

St. Patrick’s Day: A San Francisco institution since the 19th century, this massive street part takes the Civic Center by storm and features music packed parade up Market St.

The Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival: This huge two weekend long celebration of Japanese culture packs the Japan town area to overflowing every year with live music, ikebana and bonsai demonstrations and also features a giant parade that begins at San Francisco’s City Hall.

The San Francisco Carnival: This incredible street party features a tropical music filled parade of dancers and bands as well as a huge street fair, which turn the sunny Mission District into an explosive outdoor festival without equal. Memorial Day Weekend

The Bay to Breakers: This wild and uniquely San Franciscan footrace has become one of the largest costumed parades in the world. Join the fun as locals and visitors alike cross the entire city from the bay to the ocean.
